1. Sweepstakes Period: The Vaseline Essence Music Festival Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) begins at 12:01a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on May 1, 2008 and ends at 11:59 p.m. ET on June 4, 2008 (the “Sweepstakes Period”).
2. How To Enter: During the Sweepstakes Period, you must enter by visiting www.skinvoice.com (the “Site”), clicking on the Sweepstakes link, completing all required registration information, including answering, “How do you honor your skin?” (“Story”). Each week (“period”) during the Sweepstakes Period, one potential winner will be selected in a separate random drawing from all eligible Entries received. All entries must be completed and submitted by each period's end date (as indicated in the chart below), to be eligible for that drawing and all subsequent drawings, if any. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. ET on 6/4/08 to be eligible for the final period’s drawing. Limit one entry per person/e-mail address per day except for additional tell-a-friend entries. Additional Tell-a-Friend Entries: To receive additional entries for the corresponding drawing, use the online tell-a- friend form to submit the names and email addresses of friends who you think will be interested in the Sweepstakes. For each friend who subsequently clicks on the link provided in the email he/she receives and enters the Sweepstakes, you will receive one additional entry into the corresponding drawing and any subsequent drawings, at the time each friend enters the Sweepstakes. By entering, you understand that submitted stories (or portions thereof) may be posted on the Site (in Sponsor’s sole discretion) after they have been screened by Sponsor. Any story deemed inappropriate or unsuitable, in Sponsor’s sole discretion will not be posted on the site. Normal Internet access charges imposed by your on-line service will apply. All entries become property of the Sponsor. Void where prohibited and subject to all federal, state and local laws.
3. Random Drawings: One (1) potential Grand Prize Winner will be selected in each of five (5) separate random drawings on or about the dates listed above, from eligible entries received by the end of each period (as defined above). Drawings will be conducted by Don Jagoda Associates, Inc. (“Administrator”), an independent judging organization whose decisions are final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. Odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries by the end of each period.
4. Prizes And Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): Grand Prize (5): A 4-day/3-night trip for the Grand Prize winner and five (5) guests to New Orleans, LA on 7/4/08 through 7/7/08 to attend the Essence Music Festival. Grand Prize trip includes: round-trip coach class air transportation from the major airport nearest to Grand Prize Winner’s residence to New Orleans, LA, round-trip transfers from New Orleans International Airport to The Marriott New Orleans, three (3) nights hotel accommodations at The Marriott New Orleans (based on one double occupancy and one quad occupancy and subject to availability), six (6) tickets to the Essence Music Festival on July 4 – 6, 2008, six (6) tickets to the VIP screening of a Sponsor-selected documentary and a Vaseline® Cocoa Butter gift basket for Grand Prize winner (ARV: $10,000 each). In the event a winner lives within a 150-mile radius of New Orleans, LA, round-trip ground transportation will be provided in lieu of air transportation and no additional compensation will be provided. Limit one Grand Prize per person/household/email address. Prize is awarded “as is” with no warranty or guarantee, either express or implied by Sponsor. Prizes are nontransferable and no cash substitutions are allowed except by the Sponsor, who reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value if advertised prize (or portion of prize) is unavailable for any reason. The Grand Prize winners will be notified by mail, e-mail and/or phone. Income and other taxes related to the prize are the winner’s sole responsibility.
5. Eligibility: Open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age and older as of date of entry. Employees of Conopco, Inc., d/b/a Unilever (“Sponsor”), Don Jagoda Associates, Inc., their respective parents, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, suppliers, distributors and advertising, promotional and judging agencies (collectively “Sponsor and its Administrators”) and the immediate family and household members of each, are not eligible to participate or win.
6. General Rules: The Administrator will make three (3) attempts to contact the potential Grand Prize Winners via phone within 24 hours from the time potential winner selection was accomplished. If Administrator is unable to reach a potential Grand Prize Winner via phone within this time frame, he/she will be disqualified and an alternate will be selected. Potential Grand Prize Winner will then be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, liability/publicity release (except where prohibited by law) within three (3) days of notification attempt or the Grand Prize will be forfeited and alternate winner may be selected, time permitting, at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Affidavit package will be mailed via overnight mail with a pre-paid overnight return envelope included or sent via email. Sponsor is not responsible if Essence Music Festival on July 4 – 6, 2008 is postponed or cancelled for any reason, in whole or in part or if a winner cannot be confirmed with sufficient time to attend the Essence Music Festival. In such event, winner will receive remainder of the prize with no compensation paid in lieu of the Essence Music Festival ticket portion of prize. Airline tickets are for travel from major airport in the United States nearest each Grand Prize Winner's residence (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion) to New Orleans, LA. Airline carrier's regulations and conditions apply. Trips may not be combined with any other offer and travel may not qualify for frequent flyer miles. Grand Prize Winners and respective travel companions must travel together on the same itinerary. Travel companions of Grand Prize Winners (or parent/legal guardian if a travel companion is a minor) will be required to execute a Release of Liability/Publicity Release (where legal) prior to departure. Grand Prize Winner and travel companions must possess valid travel documents (i.e., valid photo ID, etc.) in order to travel. All travel must be completed July 4, 2008 through July 7, 2008; dates of departure and return are subject to change. Seat selection and timing of trip subject to availability and confirmation of reservations. No refunds or credit for changes are allowed. All other expenses and costs, not expressly listed above, including, but not limited to, taxes, tips, entertainment, and transportation to airport to and from Winner’s residence are each Grand Prize Winner's sole responsibility. Return of prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and alternate winner selection, time permitting, at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use winner’s name and likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law. By entering, entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules. Winners and all entrants, as a condition of entry into the Sweepstakes, agree to release Sponsor, Administrator, their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliated companies, promotion agencies and each of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, members, employees, agents, assigns and all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes from and against any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages, or losses to persons or property which may be sustained in connection with submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes, the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded or any typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of the prizes. In the event of a dispute as to the identity of an entrant, the authorized account holder of the email address used to enter will be deemed to be the entrant. “Authorized account holder” of an email address is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet Access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual that tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes or website; violates the Official Rules; acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner: or acts with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Sponsor and its Administrators are not responsible for technical, hardware or software malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, inaccurate, incomplete, garbled or delayed electronic communications, whether caused by the sender, by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes which may limit the ability to participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. Entries generated by script or bot are not eligible. Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate or modify the Sweepstakes if it cannot be completed as planned for any reason, including for infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, technical failures, and/or corruption of any sort. In such event, Sponsor may award prizes from among all eligible entries received prior to cancellation. As a condition of entering the Sweepstakes, participant (or parent/legal guardian if participant is a minor in his/her state of residence) agrees that: 1) under no circumstance will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential or any other damages, other than for out-of-pocket expenses; 2) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or any prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and 3) any and all claims, judgments, and award shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys fees. By submitting an entry, you represent: (a) that the Story is your own original work that has not previously been published or publicly shown or won a prize or award; (b) all rights to the Story belong to you and the Story does not infringe, misappropriate or violate the rights of any third party.
7. Winners List: For a list of the winners, available after July 1, 2008, send a stamped, self-addressed envelope by July 8, 2008, to: The Vaseline Essence Music Festival Winners, P.O. Box 7999, Melville, NY 11775-7999.
